My recent trip to Mexico surpassed my expectations in every way. The neighborhood of La Condesa goes on my list of top favorite places. It has great energy, parks in every direction, fabulous food, and a population that embraces a whole dog culture that is endearing to say the least. We travelled to a town South of Mexico City called Acamilpa which is famous as the birthplace of Emiliano Zapata (the unbridled and outspoken renegade who courageously led the Mexican Revolution). This was a super cool surprise for me as I am a nerd for Latin American history.
The Hacienda in Acamilpa was inspiring - from its tumultuous history to its peaceful grounds of lush gardens, fruit trees, singing birds and open-aired patios. We spent the day playing with flowers and foliage, taking inspiration from our natural surroundings, and collaborating underneath the 500 stone arched ceilings and adobe walls. Below is our full day of flower slinging in pictures with Nicole Land Soil and Stem and Sarah Winward at the Flores de Winward Land Workshop. Imagery by the incredible Heather Nan.
